#BLOOD FOR BLOOD and #DEATH FOR DEATH – Is revenge ever justified? And if carried out, does it bring peace or even greater misfortune?

"Waiting for Orestes" by Lada Kaštelan (based on Sophocles' "Electra"), directed by Livija Pandur, tells a story in an innovative and entirely different way—a story in which everyone can recognize themselves.

The eternal opposition—Clytemnestra and Electra—are mother and daughter locked in one of the greatest and most terrifying conflicts the world has ever known. Each tries to overcome the other while standing firm in their principles. This is a timeless thriller. For Electra's family, it began when her father sacrificed the eldest daughter for glory and power, thus setting off a cycle of hatred and destruction.

Is death repaid with death? And if so, does anyone truly have the right to kill? These are just some of the questions haunting the protagonists during long nights and even longer days, driving them to horrific thoughts that speak from within and around them. The hashtag "#Followers" replaces the ancient chorus in this retelling of Electra, representing a reflection of modern society which, instead of suppressing crime, does the exact opposite, pushing the conflict to the brink of the abyss and perhaps even beyond reason itself. A world we recognize and the irreconcilable divisions in which we live!
