The "J. S. Bach Days" is the first monographic festival in Croatia dedicated to the composer’s works. It was initiated in 2012 by professors Vesna Podrug and Wladimir Kossjanenko from the Music Department of the Academy of Arts at the University of Split. Since then, the festival has been held annually on the composer’s birthday, March 21.

Over the years, the number of participants has steadily increased, attracting great public interest. Significant concert projects have been realized in collaboration with renowned Croatian and international musicians, including complete performances of the Six Cello Suites, Six Sonatas, and Partitas for Solo Violin, the two books of The Well-Tempered Clavier and The Art of Fugue, and numerous compositions by J. S. Bach and his contemporaries.

A total of 40 concerts and five lectures have been held, featuring over 150 musicians of all generations from 15 countries. The European Festivals Association (EFA) in Brussels awarded J. S. Bach Days the title of "Remarkable Arts Festival of Europe 2019–2021."
