La Sylphide

One of the world’s oldest surviving romantic "white" ballets represents a continuation of fostering classical repertoire on the stage of the CNT Split. This fairytale story set in the Scottish highlands, where the main character James, shortly to be married, falls in love with ethereal forest-spirit creature and breaks off his engagements, surrendering himself to the world of sylphs and witches, will be staged in Split by a Danish artist Karina Elver.

On the Road

Ballet combining classic and contemporary elements danced by seventeen ballet dancers was premiered at the 62nd Split Summer Festival on the Sustipan venue in 2016. Igor Kirov once again proved that imagination, dynamic and high technical demands represent the fabric of his choreography writing.

L. J. F. Hérold - P. L.Hertel

La Fille mal gardée (The Wayward Daughter)

An eclectic score of French composer Ferdinand Hérold, rich in quotations from Rossini’s and Donizetti's operas and music by Mozart and Haydn, enables dance variations marked with expression, mime and pantomime, representing one of the main reasons why this cheerful ballet has been kept alive throughout its long performance history by way of many revivals.
