The key work of Italian verismo and one of the most popular operas in the world, Leoncavallo's masterpiece is the first opera premiere of the new theatre season.

Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore stands out for its unusually inventive music, full of successfully crafted, and fresh melodies. The famous opera will come to life on the stage of the Croatian National Theatre in Split under the baton of maestro Veton Marevci.

Aching Children Amongst Flowers by Antonela Tošić is a drama that adopts the increasingly prevalent trend among the younger generation of contemporary society, which is also becoming more prominent in dramatic writing: Instagram communication.

The novel Summers with Marija is a prose expression of rebellion against the Dalmatian "silent patriarchy" and a tribute to generations of women from a historically rich region. 

Premiere: January 2025.

The fifth and final play by Georg Büchner, Woyzeck, is also his most performed and well-known drama.

This is a drama fitting for Matijanić, built on thorough research authentic to Zlatko Paković, a columnist, writer, and director.

This masterpiece, a supreme example of Bellini's ability to create a musical narrative that radiates both beauty and depth, is being performed in Split for the first time.

Mozart's timeless classic is one of the greatest operas ever composed. The quest for truth and wisdom, love and enlightenment, is cloaked in the form of enchanting fantasy. The Magic Flute, which serves Prince Tamino to rescue him from trouble, is a symbol of art, music that touches the emotions, comforts, strengthens, and transforms the soul through a process of metamorphosis. It guides a person through numerous trials on the journey from the realm of night to the realm of light and humanity.

In folk tradition, the heroism of Mila Gojsalić, the beautiful and proud girl from Poljica, a martyr and a national heroine, the "Croatian Joan of Arc" who sacrificed her own life to eliminate the danger of foreign occupation in her native Poljica region, is a significant theme in Croatian literature, music, and art. Jakov Gotovac composed a historical musical drama based on the lyrics of Danko Anđelinović, creating his most lavish opera in the process, filled with noble pathos and almost oratorical serenity.

Based on the stories that arrived following the call from the Croatian National Theatre Split, providing a unique treasury of diverse temporal and spatial contexts, this play is both a theatrical response to people's memories and an intimate tribute to our recollections.

Snow Queen, Andersen's well-known fairy tale, will come to life on the CNT Split stage in November 2024.

Flaubert's masterpiece, Madame Bovary, choreographed and directed by the renowned Valentina Turcu, is a dramatic ballet that is a passionate and simultaneously poignant vision of Emma's inner world.

The author of Laurencia Vakhtang Chabukiani is one of the most influential dancers of the 20th century, and choreographer Nina Ananiashvili, who staged the performance with the Split National Theatre Ballet, has been proclaimed as one of the greatest ballerinas in the world of all time. 

The ballet spectacle The Nutcracker, the most performed white ballet in the world, a title it has been breaking records in terms of attendance and popularity for years in Croatia, is once again on the program of the Croatian National Theatre in Split this season. Choreographed by Wacław Orlikowski, the choreography has been adapted by choreographer Božica Lisak, and the entire Ballet ensemble, along with young dancers from the Ballet Studio, is involved in this lavish production with over 130 dancers on stage.

The novel Red Water is considered one of the finest thrillers in Croatian literature. It has been honored with several international awards and translated into several foreign languages. A gripping quest for a missing beauty intertwines with the recent historical drama of a country and its people.

Tennessee Williams' timeless masterpiece, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is set against the backdrop of a crumbling patriarchal capitalist society where falsehoods often eclipse the truth, and a family plunges into an existential crisis when suppressed emotions are finally spoken aloud. This iconic drama, originally penned in 1955 and awarded the Pulitzer Prize, is brought to life under the direction of Jug Đorđević, the recipient of the prestigious Sterija Award for 2023.

The project of a fake band featuring four musically inept characters transforms into an unexpected success despite the characters' minimal readiness for the endeavor. The play's narrative follows the journey from the idea's inception to the creation of the fake band, culminating in a concert that the characters must ultimately perform.

"The Theater that Questions the City in Which It Operates" is the title of one of the newspaper reviews following the premiere of a play by the young Split playwright Ivana Vuković. "55 Square Meters" was declared the best Croatian drama production in 2022, and with a total of 14 awards at regional festivals, it is the most awarded current production at the HNK Split (Croatian National Theatre Split).

The debut book by Tisja Kljaković Braić, "U malu je uša đava" (Little Rascal), has been consistently at the top of the charts for most-read and best-selling books in Croatia for a long time. Since its content, through a series of humorous stories, brings to life the Split of the 1980s, which still irresistibly resembles Smojin Split from "Veliko misto" and Fellini's Mediterranean, the path to a theatrical adaptation has naturally and expectedly presented itself.

The dramatization of the novella Chronicle of Our Little Town brings to life the Smoje's well-known and beloved characters.

The Frog by Dubravko Mihanović, a text that has been translated, performed, and awarded multiple times, remains relevant fifteen years after its creation. It tells the story of recognizable individuals who struggle to adapt to a world of inverted values. The drama takes place in a barbershop on Christmas Eve, further emphasizing the loneliness and personal struggles of the four men who meet there. The lack of communication and empathy, alienation in a world of superficiality and false success, and the battle to find closeness are condensed into a masterfully written drama, which, through unexpected twists, turns into a psychological thriller.

Lapland is a witty, charming, and sharp comedy by Catalan writers. Its world premiere was in January 2019 in Barcelona.
