The novel Summers with Marija is a prose expression of rebellion against the Dalmatian "silent patriarchy" and a tribute to generations of women from a historically rich region.
Premiere: January 2025.
The novel is structured to be narrated by "various Marijas," members of the same family tree but from different generations, thus creating a mosaic of stories and perspectives that provide a final picture of endurance, transformation, the making of history, and emotions within a broader family circle. Directed by Marina Pejnović and adapted by Mila Pavičević, the play examines the ever-relevant issue of women's societal roles through different generational perspectives.
